I'd like to talk about Coldplay. They've been my favourite band since I was a teenager.

The band and its members

Coldplay is a British band. There are four members. The singer is Chris Martin, and he also plays the piano. The others play the guitar, the bass and the drums.

How long you have listened to them

I've been listening to them for about twelve years. My cousin gave me one of their albums when I was fifteen, and I played it again and again.

Famous songs

Some of their most famous songs are Yellow, The Scientist, Viva la Vida and Fix You. Fix You is my favourite. It's a slow song about helping someone through a difficult time.

Why you like them

I like them because their songs are full of emotion, but they're also positive. When I'm feeling down, their music makes me feel better. Their lyrics are quite simple, so they also helped me learn English. My dream is to see them live in a concert one day.

Do you think music has an effect on people's lives? How?

Yes, a big effect. Music can change our mood very quickly. A happy song can give us energy, and a slow song can help us relax. Music also brings back memories. When I hear an old song, I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it.

Twenty years ago, people listened to whole albums on CDs. Now, people listen to single songs on streaming apps. Songs have also become shorter. And there's more mixing of styles, for example, pop music with traditional instruments or rap in many languages.
